He has been co-head of the Asian Department of the Max Planck Institute for Patent, Copyright and Competition Law in Munich since 2000. Contributor Bio:  Pattloch, Thomas THOMAS PATTLOCH, LL. M. Eur. (Munich) Dr. iur., studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich and was admitted to the German bar in 2001. He studied Chinese in Taipei (1993-1994) and joined the Max Planck Institute in 1998. After a research stay at Beijing University (1998-1999), he finished his Ph. D. on the international private law of intellectual property of the People's Republic of China in 2002, and since July 2003 has been working as an attorney-at-law for the Hamburgbased German law firm Schulz Noack Baerwinkel in Shanghai. Currently, he is chairman of the IPR working group of the EU Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Contributor Bio:  Heath, Christopher Heath lived and worked in Japan for three years and since 1992 has headed the Max Planck Institute's Asian Department.
